TMCSEA provides a wide array of services to districts, students, and families to assist in building effective educational supports for children with autism spectrum disorders. These services include autism assistance, staff development, lending library, ADOS evaluations and a variety of resources for both schools and home at no cost for our member districts.
Autism Diagnostic Observation Scale (ADOS) The ADOS is a semi-structured assessment of communication, social interaction, and play (or imaginative use of materials) for individuals who have been referred because of a possible autism spectrum disorder.
The goal of the ADOS is to provide standardized information concerning the diagnosis of autism in the areas of social behavior, use of vocalization/speech and gesture in social situations, play and interests. Structured activities and materials provide standard contexts in which social interactions, communication, and other behaviors relevant to autism spectrum disorders are observed. The Autism Lending Library is located at Schramm Educational Center, 300 Cedar Street, Pekin, IL 61554. There are over 100 books, DVDs and other materials that can be checked out provide supplemental information to parents, teachers, and support staff.
