A Few of our Goals…

A primary focus of our classroom is = on the building of communication.

 

We focus on this goal in order to increase communication across all means of the child life. We incorpora= te a variety of means of communication within our schedule in order to meet = the individual needs of each of our unique students.

 

Currently one of our key forms of communication is through the

Picture Exchange Communication Syste= m (PECs).  For more information please vi= sit www.pecs.com.

Within this website there is a great webcast for parents to learn more on the PECS.  http://www.pecs.com/= webcasts/approach.php

This system allows for our students = to utilize visual cues in order to complete tasks throughout their day both here at school as well as at home.

 

Another primary goal of our room is developing and maximizing independence and appropriate developmental skills.  On a daily basis = we incorporate various opportunities for self care, potty training, brushi= ng teeth, general personal grooming tactics, as well as sensory integratio= n.

 

Home to school generalization and communication are incredibly important aspects to the success of our students.

Meet our Staff…

My name is Shelby Roberts and this will be my second yea= r in this classroom. My husband and I were blessed with the perfect wedding = day this summer and could not be happier to start another year here at Schramm.<= span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'>  We will have a new assistant i= n our classroom this year; Johnica Haynes. She is an incredible asset to our classroom and we are excited to have = her as a part of our team.
